I read this book shortly after it came out and have reread it at least five times. If you love 60's rock and fantasy you can't go wrong here. Ray Shackleford is an every day (90's) type of guy who repairs stereo equipment for a living and dreams of the what ifs of the late 60's legendary rock performers lives. What if the Beatles had made that last great record. What if Brian Wilson had conquered his drug problems. As Ray dreams he is somehow able to pull non existant music into being. This gift allows him to relive Rock and Roll histories, not as they were but as they should have been with some fascinating changes to the backdrop of Rock and Roll.
